Kentucky Derby 2024 - Road to the Derby Schedule
Kentucky Derby 2024 will mark the 150th running of America's most famous race on Saturday, May 4 at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky. Follow the road to the Derby with Horse Racing Nation! For the 12th year, a points system will be used to determine entrants for the Kentucky Derby. The updated race schedule and point values are below.
The following are results of each prep race and points earned. The table will be updated reflecting any changes to the schedule.

Once again, horses trained by any individual suspended from racing in the Kentucky Derby cannot earn points to the race. Continuing from 2024, preps in California, New York, Florida and Kentucky will be run without Lasix. Horses who do run on the medication will not receive Derby points. Those horses are designated with a [*] in the chart. One invitation will be
extended to the top point earners in the Europe Road to the Kentucky Derby and one invitation will be extended to the top
point earners in the Japan Road to the Kentucky Derby. The Kentucky Derby field has been limited to 20 starters
since 1975. At least 20 horses have entered the 1 1/4-mile race for 3-year-olds in 22 of the last 25 years.
