Oh no! I Hardest a racing death has hit me in quite awhile. Like with the 2012 gang, I'm always going to be attached to the animals that turned 2015 into a magical year of me. I remember when I said Effinex was the best older horse in the country, jumped off the bandwagon after a clunker and felt like an idiot when he came in second. I'm going to miss you buddy, I mean I already did along with all of your living peers but there's a difference between missing someone you'll never see again and missing someone because they're gone.
RIP. He was a cool and wonky horse. Before Mike Smith became his jockey, I remembered he liked to bore out and head for the middle of the track or the other side of the rail.
Anyone know how many foals he has on the ground and how many mares are bred due to foal in 2018? What consistent times he had when running..
Neolithic worked 4f, Oct 19th, in 48.98(B) finishing 2/14.
Bal a Bali worked 6f, Oct 19th, in 1:13.00 (H) finishing 1/5.
American Patriot worked 4f, Oct 19th, in 48.20 (b) finishing 7/31.
McCraken worked 6f, Oct 19th, in 1:14.60 (b) finishing 1/3.
Takaful worked 4f, Oct 19th, in 48.25 (b) finishing 1/23.
This is so sad, what a shocking loss. He was so young. I know I would have been devastated if this had happened to one of my horses. REST IN PEACE EFFINEX.
Oh my god... so terrible death... rest in peace amazing boy.
BREAKING: Absolutely terrible news to report, Effinex, a Grade 1 winner and young New York stallion, died Wednesday in his stall of a pulmonary aneurysm at McMahon of Saratoga Thoroughbreds in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. He was 6 years old. I got a call last night at 10 o'clock that he was dead," Cohen said. "The groom left the barn after feeding him at seven, the secretary’s office is right in the stallion barn and she left at 7:30, and one of the veterinarians from Rood and Riddle lives above the stallion barn. He heard a big noise, he went downstairs to find out what it was, and the horse was dead. Rood and Riddle did a postmortem on him and his lungs and trachea were full of blood. He had a pulmonary aneurysm." RIP
