Last Saturday, Whitmore became trainer Ron Moquett's second Grade 1 winner, and the barn's first since 2006. So if the horse wants to play in a sprinkler, he's earned that right.
Moquett shared to Twitter a look into the Forego Stakes hero's personality. Or perhaps it was just that hot Monday afternoon at Saratoga.
Either way, Whitmore -- now a winner of more than $1.9 million -- appears well behaved, on a loose hold and cooling off at the Spa.
As Moquett put it, "I haven’t met many 5 year olds that don’t love playing in the sprinkler on a hot summer day."
