Bob Baffert's next big horse? You heard it first...from TMZ

How much does a Triple Crown sweep resonate with the general public? For the second time in four years, the tabloid website TMZ tracked down Bob Baffert for an interview.

This time, as Baffert was signing autographs outside the Hollywood restaurant Craig's, an obvious outsider to racing asked a key question of the Hall of Fame trainer.

Who's his next American Pharoah or Justify?

"Roadster," Baffert said.

And to Equibase we go...

The Quality Road colt is un-raced but working out, having already graduated from Baffert's Los Alamitos training string to the big show at Santa Anita Park. In his last drill, 2-year-old Roadster breezed a half mile Monday in 47.80 seconds (2/64). There's also a recent gate work, suggesting a debut could come soon.

Speedway Stables, which also campaigns Grade 1 winner Collected, purchased Roadster for $525,000 at the Keeneland September sale.

As for Justify, Baffert quipped of the Triple Crown winner, "He's going to have a lot of girlfriends." But only after the unbeaten colt finishes his 3-year-old season. The next race remains to be announced.
