HorseCenter: Pegasus World Cup and Pegasus Turf top picks

HorseCenter: Pegasus World Cup and Pegasus Turf top picks

This week on HorseCenter, your hosts Brian Zipse and Matt Shifman offer analysis and top picks for a pair of rich races from Gulfstream Park. Cyberknife looks to go out a winner in the $3 million Pegasus World Cup, and Ivar is the favorite in the $1 million Pegasus World Cup Turf.

Full fields in both the Pegasus World Cup and the Pegasus World Cup Turf make these races interesting to handicap. Cyberknife is the morning-line favorite for the 2023 World Cup, although not a heavy favorites like Arrogate, Gun Runner, Knicks Go and Life Is Good, who have dominated this race in the past.

In the World Cup Turf, the top choices Ivar and City Man start the race from the far outside in post positions 10 and 12, respectively. Ivar is a veteran of Grade 1 racing with three years in the Breeders’ Cup Mile, and City Man brings a three-race winning streak to the race for trainer Christophe Clement.

Enjoy a great weekend of racing at Gulfstream Park for the Pegasus races and the Southwest (G3) at Oaklawn on the Kentucky Derby trail. Matt and Brian will be back next week to talk about the results. As always, thanks for watching the show.
