Known Agenda, a Kentucky Derby hopeful last seen finishing fifth as the 3-2 favorite in the Grade 3 Sam F. Davis, will look to improve his form in an allowance optional claiming race at Gulfstream on Friday.
The Curlin colt, trained by Todd Pletcher, is entered in the fourth race, a $75,000, 1 1/8-mile route for 3-year-olds.
Keeler Johnson noted in his Horses to Watch post that Known Agenda ran a strange race in the Sam F. Davis. The St. Elias Stable homebred was out of contention at the top of the stretch and then gained 8 3/4 lengths through the final furlong to finish 4 1/4 lengths behind the winner, Candy Man Rocket.
Before the Davis, Known Agenda was third in the Remsen (G2) in December after breaking his maiden on second try in November.
Another Pletcher colt by Curlin, Amount, also is entered in Friday’s race. He broke his maiden on first try in December with a 5 3/4-length win at Aqueduct despite getting bumped at the start. Next out, he did not finish in the Holy Bull (G3) after being pulled up while turning for home.
