Wednesday’s 8th race from Indiana Grand is the $200,000 Indiana Grand Stakes for 3-year-old fillies traveling one mile on the turf course (Post Time - 5:31 p.m. ET).
#5 WINTER SUNSET (6-1) should love this shorter trip. She won her first two turf starts at 7.5 furlongs and one mile, and she was pulling away at the end of those two races. Her last four starts were grade three events at 8.5 furlongs and 9 furlongs, and she lost ground in the stretch in all four. She did finish 2nd or 3rd in three of those races, and this looks like a good spot to get back on the winning track.
#1 With Dignity (7-2) won her first two dirt starts and ended up splitting a 12-horse field in the Indiana Oaks (G3) July 13. Dam has produced two turf winners and she should be running late if she handles the new footing.
#12 She’sonthewarpath (4-1) won all three of her turf starts including the Ta Wee Stakes at this course/distance July 18. She can stalk or close and will have to work out a trip from an outside post.
#10 Story Time (12-1) is 2-for-4 on turf, and both of her wins were at this course and distance. She packs a decent stretch kick.
#5 to win
