#6 VEGAS KITTEN (7-2) was reclaimed out of his last by Mike Maker. He exits a nice local front running turf victory at a mile and a sixteenth, and he looks like the one to catch in this marathon.
#4 Surf and Turf (8-1) owns some impressive late pace ratings, and that gives me hope that he can handle this marathon distance. He should be grinding away in the stretch.
High percentage trainer Saffie Joseph Jr. has a pair of contenders. #1 Rijeka (9-2) showed some ability on the Southern California circuit, and is trying to get his career back on track. #5 Lemonist (9-5) was claimed out of his last for $40k. He landed the place in a pair of turf races at a mile and three-eighths in New York last year.
