Wednesday's Best Bet: Salutetheprince can score again at Delta Downs

January 09, 2019 11:10am
Wednesday’s eighth race from Delta Downs is a $42,000 entry level allowance event for Louisiana-bred 4-year-olds and up traveling one mile on the main track (Post Time - 9:52 p.m. ET).

#9 SALUTETHEPRINCE (4-1) removed blinkers and earned a quality number in a sharp $4k/4L score at this course and distance on Dec. 19. He might be able to step up and score again for the productive Tim Thornton and Karl Broberg team.

#6 Exton (4-1) ran well in his last seven dirt starts, and he was a solid third behind a pair of next-out winners at this course and distance on Nov. 14.

#3 Zacksgotthis (7-2) finished in the top three in seven of nine local starts. Three of his four wins were at this distance, and he drew an advantageous post.

#4 Two Steppin’ Star (12-1) exits a decent second in a local flat mile affair against $5,000 claimers, and two runners from that race were next-out winners, including Salutetheprince. His new trainer, Guy Smith, is 3-for-15 at Delta Downs.

#5 Noisey Boy (7-2) was part of the trifecta in eight of his last nine starts. He landed the place in both local starts and is a solid contender.
