Wednesday’s 8th race from Indiana Grand is the $100,000 Brickyard Stakes for Indiana-bred 3-year-olds and up dashing six furlongs on the main track (Post Time - 5:31 p.m. ET).
#7 OPERATION STEVIE (3-1) had his two-race win streak snapped in a late running show finish against this kind on Aug. 21. The hard-trying gelding can win this if he gets pace help.
#9 Double Tuff (1-1) was claimed for $16,000 by Randy Matthews on June 16, and he easily won both local starts at this distance for his new trainer. He projects an outside stalking trip.
#6 Wholelotachocolate (6-1) did not handle a turf route at all in a local stakes race Sept. 3. He is 4-for-5 on dirt at Indiana Grand, and is 3-for-4 sprinting.
#5 Nova (20-1) finished first or second in his last three local sprints. He must be considered a trifecta threat in his current form, and the price should be right.
