Wednesday’s 8th race from Keeneland is the Grade 2 Jessamine Stakes for two-year-old fillies traveling a mile and a sixteenth on the turf course (Post Time 4:44 p.m. EDT).
No. 10 MISTHAVEN (6-1) earned a decent late pace rating in a good looking turf sprint debut victory at Kentucky Downs Sept. 5. Joe Sharp is strong with his second grass starters and she will try to get involved late under Tyler Gaffalione. Her sire Candy Ride is responsible for several quality turf route runners and dam Celestial Woods has produced multiple stakes winners including Bobby’s Kitten and Camelot Kitten.
No. 12 Dressed (9-2) graduated while in hand on all-weather ground around two turns second time out, and turned back, returned to turf, and smartly scored again at Kentucky Downs Sept. 12. Prat takes the call and she looks like a solid contender.
No. 3 Turnerloose (5-2) won both of her flat mile turf starts including a strong prominent throughout score in a stakes affair at Kentucky Downs Sept. 6.
No. 8 Queen Judith (15-1) rallied late from an outer post to graduate at first asking in a turf sprint on yielding ground at Kentucky Downs Sept. 5. Mark Casse’s $250k purchase is bred to handle the added ground.
No. 7 Bhoma (20-1) fired in both dirt sprints and is interesting on the surface switch for the productive Hernandez Jr./McPeek team. She is bred to route and dam has tossed two turf winners.
