Wednesday's Best Bet: Lovely Ride steers clear in Indiana Oaks

Wednesday’s 11th race from Indiana Grand is the Grade 3 Indiana Oaks for three-year-old fillies traveling a mile and a sixteenth on the main track (Post Time 7:43 p.m. ET).

#5 LOVELY RIDE (4-1) was second behind a runaway winner in her sprint debut last year. She won all three starts this season and stretched out successfully at Churchill Downs May 14. She should make her presence felt throughout and might be this good.

#1 Will’s Secret (5-2) exits an okay show finish from an outer post in the Kentucky Oaks (G1). She won a couple of stakes routes at Oaklawn Park earlier this year and will probably save ground stalking the pace under Jon Court.

#2 Soothsay (3-1) is lightly raced with improving speed ratings. She upset the Santa Anita Oaks (G2) in her second career start, and returned from a short layoff and was second best in the Summertime Oaks (G2) May 30. She will probably chase the pace under her regular pilot Flavien Prat.

#9 Lady Aces (8-1) was less than two lengths behind Soothsay in the Summertime Oaks last time. She goes back on lasix and Umberto Rispoli knows her now. She is lightly raced and might improve in her second route attempt.

Wagers:

#5 to win
