Wednesday's Best Bet: Getoffmyback can shake loose early at Aqueduct

November 06, 2018 10:07pm

Wednesday’s seventh race from Aqueduct is a $32,000 claiming event for 3-year-olds and up dashing six furlongs on the main track.

#1 GETOFFMYBACK (6-1) will have to hustle away from the inside post, but that might be a good thing because he used aggressive tactics to wire $12,500 claimers at Belmont July 6. He hit the board in his last two wet track races at Delaware and Monmouth, and Irad Ortiz Jr. is 1-for-1 with Robertino Diodoro.

#4 Full Salute (9-2) has been popular at the claim box recently, and Gary Contessa has him now. Joel Rosario wins races with this barn, and he looms a pace factor at the very least.

#5 Blue Belt (9-2) brings speed to the table, and he is another first after the claim entrant. The NY-bred is sharp and has won here before.

#2 Bitumen (4-1) has been gelded since his last start and remains at his $32,000 claimed level. Three of his four wins were at this distance, and he needs an honest pace.

#3 Helooksthepart (2-1) drops below his $40,000 claimed price, and the 8-year-old gelding will try to get involved late. He fired trifecta shots in all four local outings (2 wins).

#6 Roman Approval (9-2) has been competing in turf routes recently. The seven-year-old gelding has competed on the main track fifteen times with thirteen trifecta finishes, and Jeremiah Englehart excels second after the claim
