Wednesday’s 8th race from Delaware Park is the $100,000 Obeah Stakes for fillies and mares traveling a mile and a sixteenth on the main track (Post Time 4:45 p.m. ET).
#3 BAJAN GIRL (6-1) was overmatched in the La Troienne (G1) April 30. The versatile filly is dangerous when she shakes loose early and her new pilot Kendrick Carmouche is probably going to send her to the front.
#8 Miss Marissa (8-1) owns early-pressing speed and proved her class with a prominent throughout victory over Bonny South in the Black-Eyed Susan Stakes last year. She reconnects with her winning rider Daniel Centeno and she should make her presence felt throughout, but runners from this barn frequently need a start after a layoff of more than ninety days.
#12 Graceful Princess (9-2) is a lightly raced daughter of Tapit exiting a close-up show finish in the Doubledogdare (G3) at Keeneland. She occasionally shows up with a strong effort and must be respected throughout if she runs one of her better races.
#11 Market Rumor (20-1) chased the pace and finished 2nd in both dirt routes this year. She is a decent allowance filly and we will see if she can step up and compete with stakes foes in her third start after a layoff.
#14 Artful Splatter (15-1) adores a wet track and there is a decent chance of storms in Wilmington, DE on Wednesday.
