Wednesday’s 8th race from Gulfstream Park is an optional claiming event for 4-year-olds and up traveling a mile and an eighth on the turf course (Post Time 4:11 p.m. ET).
#8 ARTIE’S RUMOR (4-1) rallied to defeat allowance turf routers at Keeneland as the favorite in his first start after the Mike Maker claim Oct. 22. Last time, he was a troubled 4th as my top choice in the Claiming Crown Emerald. Irad Ortiz Jr. sticks with the versatile gelding and he can win this with a clean trip.
#9 Endorsed (9-2) is a classy main track performer and is interesting if he handles turf for recently hot trainer Bill Mott. This one owns running style versatility and his new rider John Velazquez should have options from the outside post.
#1 Perfect Speighty (5-1) went two-for-three in turf routes in 2019. He was off his game when he returned last year, and rediscovered his sharp form last winter. He is versatile and must be respected in his current form.
#4 Danceteria (7-2) won Group 3 and Group 1 races in 2019, and went off form in Australia after that. Graham Motion has him now and he appears to be training well for this engagement.
#2 Monarchs Glen (5-2) dropped his first eleven starts in this country and finally scored at Gulfstream Park West Nov. 25. He has stuck twice at this distance in his career and Paco Lopez will probably try to get him in a stalking position. He is entered for the $75,000 tag.
