Tuesday’s 6th race from Presque Isle Downs is a $25,000 claiming event for three-year-olds and up dashing six and one-half furlongs on the all-weather surface (Post Time 6:50 p.m. ET).
#1 VALENTINE BUG (5-1) fired trifecta shots in seven of eight local attempts. He turns back in distance and can rally for a share at the very least. His speed ratings match up well with the top contenders.
#4 Summerfest (9-5) exits back-to-back local sprint wins vs. state bred foes. The sophomore gelding figures to stalk the pace and must be respected in his current form.
#6 Heather’s Gold (2-1) captured his last three local sprints. The early-pressing gelding is sharp and versatile.
#5 Straightoutadutton (5-1) attended the pace and landed the place in his last pair, and Heather’s Gold defeated him in both of those races. He might get brave if able to shake loose early.
#3 Bear Creek (6-1) is a bit interesting in his first start after the claim. Sharp local rider Pablo Morales takes the call and he will try to get involved late.
