#3 THESE BLUES (9-2) is an inside pace factor at a speed friendly distance. He dueled on the lead and ended up 2nd in a $5,000 claiming sprint at Delaware June 24, and the show finisher was a next-out winner. That was his first start in more than four months, and he clearly improved that day for his new trainer Jamie Ness. The five-time local winner figures right there throughout if he duplicates his last, and his new rider Ruben Silvera has been on a roll with Ness recently.
#11 Word of Truth (5-2) finished 1st or 2nd in nine of his last ten starts, and he won six of those races. The win type should be finishing under his new rider Pennington.
#10 Ketos (5-1) is a fresh gelding with early-pressing speed and competitive numbers, and Guerrero has pretty good stats with his second after the claim starters.
#5 Mach Trial (9-5) has not won in quite some time, and the seven-year-old gelding has lost his early speed. He is 1-for-12 at Parx and 0-for-2 at this distance, and I like him more underneath.
