Tuesday’s 2nd race from Delta Downs is the Louisiana Jewel Stakes for 3-year-old fillies traveling seven and one-half furlongs on the main track (Post Time 2:22 p.m. ET).
#3 TAYLOR AVENUE (3-1) was competitive in all three starts and was clearly second best in the LA Champions Day Lassie Dec. 12. I like her stalking style and she can win this with another small forward move.
#4 Australasia (4-5) ran off the screen from the inside post in her dirt sprint debut at Fair Grounds Nov. 26. She could easily be this good for Brad Cox but the price will be minuscule.
#6 Non Binding (12-1) pressed the pace and smartly scored in her local extended sprint bow, and was flattered when clear runner-up Eileen Alexandra returned to romp at one mile Jan. 5.
#1 Tecate Time (5-1) was best of the rest in 3rd in the Champions Day Lassie, and that was the second time she landed the show in a state bred stakes sprint. She can rally for a share in this spot.
#2 Inawic (8-1) is a maiden with a trio of runner-up finishes from five outings, and she was a neck behind Tecate Time in the LA Cup Juvenile Fillies last year.
#5 Streamer (10-1) fired once in four outings and that was a wet track romp at one mile last summer. She owns the lowest speed ratings.
#3 to win
