Tuesday's Best Bet: Libertarian can move forward at Turf Paradise

December 11, 2018 02:21pm

Tuesday’s fourth race from Turf Paradise is an optional claiming event for 3-year-olds and up traveling one mile on the main track (Post Time 4:08 p.m. ET).

#3 LIBERTARIAN (9-2) has had a productive season on turf and dirt in races up to 7 1/2 furlongs. This might be a bit beyond his preferred trip, but he got a useful spin over the local dirt oval against $16,000 sprinters Dec. 3, and he could easily move forward for quality trainer Esteban Martinez.

#6 Freedom Hill (7-2) showed nice late interest in a local sprint score Nov. 25, and his trainer Manuel Ortiz Sr. has strong sprint/route stats.

#7 Don’t Hold Me Back (2-1) faced stakes foes in his last three starts at Hastings, and he hit the board in two of those. The versatile gelding owns a couple of wins at this course and distance.
