Tuesday's Best Bet: Irish Cork always delivers at Parx Racing

Tuesday’s 10th race from Parx Racing is an optional claiming event for PA-bred 3-year-olds and up traveling a mile and seventy yards on the main track (Post Time 4:58 p.m. ET).

#7 IRISH CORK (7-2) always finishes in the top three at this course and distance. He is sharp, fresh, and adapts to various pace scenarios. He can set the pace if need be but probably won’t do that from the outside post in a race with other speed. Last time, he got plenty of pace help in a rallying victory from the outside post. He is comfortable stalking the pace as well.

#1 Forest Fire (5-1) exits an easy course/distance score and might be able to maintain sharp form in his third start after a layoff. He has early-pressing versatility and the inside post.

#2 Hibachi (10-1) stalked inside and scored in a local flat mile starter allowance affair March 2, and the runner-up was a next-out winner.

#3 Grit’n’grind (9-2) stretched back out and smartly rallied for the win in his first start after a short layoff March 16. The veteran gelding must be respected in his current form.
