Tuesday's Best Bet: Honey Cake raises the bar in Penny Memorial Stakes

Tuesday’s 10th race from Parx Racing is the Grade 3 Dr. James Penny Memorial Stakes for fillies and mares traveling a mile and a sixteenth on the turf course (Post Time 5:07 p.m. ET).

#3 HONEY CAKE (6-1) won three of her last four starts in France and her new trainer Jonathan Thomas excels with overseas invaders and with lengthy layoff runners. Manny Franco clicks with this barn.

#8 Princess Grace (4-1) was very good last year with a trio of wins and a runner-up finish from four outings. She stalked, led, and finished 2nd in the Valley View (G3), and pressed and pulled clear in the Mrs. Revere (G2). The latter was originally scheduled for turf. She shows back-to-back bullet workouts for this engagement and should work out a decent tactical trip under Joe Bravo.

#2 Amniarix (9-2) makes her North American debut for Graham Motion. She won a trio of all-weather races in Great Britain and Jose Ortiz has been winning races with this outfit.

#10 Madita (5-1) enjoys this distance and Arnaud Delacour has strong stats with this type of returnee. She is probably going to stalk outside.

#5 Platinum Paynter (7-2) is two-for-two at Parx and should make her presence felt throughout. She might get brave if able to shake loose early.

#4 Secret Time (6-1) is now conditioned by Danny Gargan and he is strong with new additions to his barn. She should be running late with Irad Ortiz Jr. in the saddle.
