Tuesday's Best Bet: Galerio peaks in Ballezzi Appreciation Mile

Tuesday’s 10th race from Parx Racing is the $100,000 M. P. Ballezzi Appreciation Mile Stakes for three-year-olds and up traveling one mile on the main track (Post Time 5:11 p.m. ET).

#4 GALERIO (7-2) was clearly second best on a wet track at Colonial Downs Aug. 16, and Jamie Ness claimed him for $40k that day. The versatile gelding is capable of winning this type of stakes affair and he figures to stalk the pace.

#1 Senior Investment (9-2) exits a head defeat in a restricted stakes race at Delaware Park. He won a local flat mile optional claimer from the inside post under Tuesday’s rider Kendrick Carmouche before that.

#10 Phat Man (4-1) is used to racing wide so the draw is too much of a concern. He has had success at this distance and is classy enough to win a race like this.

#2 Empty Tomb (5-1) chased and retreated in a dirt stakes marathon at Belmont Park Sept. 18, and that was his first start after the Falcone Jr. claim. He is back at his winning distance and should make his presence felt throughout.

#4 to win
