Tuesday's Best Bet: Copper Nickel has pace advantage at Indiana Grand

Tuesday’s 4th race from Indiana Grand is a $36,500 allowance event for Indiana-bred fillies and mares which have never won three races. They will be dashing five and one-half furlongs on the main track (Post Time 3:44 p.m. ET).

#4 COPPER NICKEL (2-1) is back with state bred friends after a pair of unplaced finishes at Oaklawn Park. She had a bad start in a sprint April 2, and attended above par splits and came up empty in the stretch around two turns April 23. Both of her wins last year were at Indiana Grand, including a stakes victory under Tuesday’s rider Jon Court. She should be forwardly placed and might be the one to catch.

#1 Bribe (7-2) finished first or second in her last four local dirt sprints, and she romped when last seen October 2019. She will try to get involved late.

#6 Shacklelackalacka (9-5) makes her first start in more than eight months for Brad Cox. She fired in all three local main track starts last year and will probably stalk the pace. She was the favorite in all four starts and might take more money than she should.

#2 Runninawaywithit (6-1) is a fairly consistent filly making her first start in more than seven months. She will probably try to get involved early in a race without out much early pace.
