Tuesday’s 6th race from Turf Paradise is an optional claiming event for 4-year-olds and up traveling one mile on the main track (Post Time 4:53 p.m. ET).
#1 BIG BARREL (6-1) attended the pace and hit the board in his last two local starts. He stretches back out for sharp first after the claim trainer Dan McFarlane, and he might be the one to catch from the rail. This is a speed friendly distance and he owns the best overall pace ratings, and he might be able to go all the way at a hint of a price. He has not won in quite some time.
#7 Bull Hollow (4-1) returned to a sprint in his first start after a short layoff, and he cruised to a strong local maiden win as the favorite in that Jan. 19 affair. He stretches back out for a strong second after a layoff barn and he should be forwardly placed.
#5 Ultimate Mystery (8-1) switched to dirt, chased the pace, and finished 3rd behind a runaway winner in a slow early/fast late event at this course and distance Jan. 22.
#3 Dopo Lavoro (2-1) stalked the pace and scored comfortably in a local flat mile race originally scheduled for turf and run on a good main track Jan. 26. He is entered for the $15k tag in this spot and might take more win action than he should.
