Tuesday’s 7th race from Fort Erie is an optional claiming event for fillies and mares dashing five and one-half furlongs on the main track (Post Time 4:08 p.m. ET).
#5 ANNIVERSARY ROSE (5-2) puts blinkers back on and is probably the one to catch in a race without much early zip. She was in excellent form during the latter portion of 2019, and has not been up to par in her three starts this year. This looks like a good rebound spot.
#1 Light of Congrats (2-1) ran well in two of her four all-weather sprints last year. She makes her first start in more than nine months for a quality layoff barn, and she will probably save ground behind the speed.
#6 Snell Flicka (12-1) is usually forwardly placed on all-weather ground. There is a real possibility that she needs an easier spot for her new connections, but she handles regular dirt and might be able to outrun her odds from a stalking position.
#7 About a Girl (10-1) is a fairly consistent performer with running style versatility. She looks a bit light on class, but likes this course and distance, and can contend for a minor award.
