Thursday's Best Bet: Well Defined can wire field again at Gulfstream

Thursday’s 8th race from Gulfstream Park is a starter allowance event for 4-year-olds and up traveling one mile on the main track (Post Time 4:11 p.m. ET).

#2 WELL DEFINED (3-1) won the Florida Sire In Reality Stakes in 2018 and the Sam F. Davis (G3) in 2019, and he exits back-to-back front running victories in the claiming ranks. He likes this oval and is the one to catch at a speed friendly distance.

#5 Storm Runner (2-1) might have the early-pressing positional edge from this post over sharp speedster Well Defined. He set the pace and finished 2nd to Jesus’ Team in the Claiming Crown Jewel Dec. 5, and pressed the issue and won back-to-back races at Churchill Downs before that.

#4 Like You (8-1) enjoys this course and distance and is more than capable of spicing up the exotics.

#6 Fort Peck (7-2) fired trifecta shots in his last three dirt routes in Kentucky. Jose Ortiz rides and he figures to stalk outside, but he has not had much success at this distance.

#3 Glory of Florida (9-2) is usually thereabouts but does not win often. He exits a solid 2nd in his first start after the claim.

#1 Quenane (6-1) rounds out the field and the veteran gelding needs pace help.

#2 to win

Exacta 2-5/2-4-5
