#3 WAR CANOE (3-1) is one of two entrants for Chad Brown, and she should offer more value than her favored stablemate Fifty Five. My top choice was in good form for much of 2019, and was especially sharp in her final four starts of the year. She was claimed out of her last start for $62,500, and Irad Ortiz Jr. hops aboard the versatile mare. This looks like a slow early/fast late affair, and she should be on or near the lead.
#1 Fifty Five (4-5) is a reliable closer at one mile for Chad Brown, and she likes this turf course. The win type figures to save ground before launching her rally under Javier Castellano. She would be no surprise but the price is going to be very low. She is capable of sitting somewhat close to the early leaders.
#5 Classic Lady (6-1) moves to the Christophe Clement barn, and she fired exacta shots in her final six starts of 2019. Joel Rosario hops aboard the interesting late runner, but this race does not seem to set up for her.
