No. 4 MOSE PERFECT (3-1) rallied outside to capture his Laurel Park maiden claiming debut at 19-1 odds April 30, and clear runner-up Mosler Safe was a sharp next-out winner as the favorite May 19. Michael Trombetta is winning races at Pimlico and Victor Carrasco has been clicking with this barn recently.
No. 6 Hagler (3-1) is an early-pressing sprinter with a decent fast track record. The New York shipper gets the services of sharp local rider Jevian Toledo and should make his presence felt throughout.
No. 5 Rominski (7-5) was part of the exacta in all three starts and used a different running style each time. He wired the field in his debut, broke slow and rallied to miss by a head second time out, and stalked the pace and was second best as the beaten even money favorite in his May 5 return. He drilled a bullet for this May 19 and might move up in his second start after a layoff, but he won’t offer much value.
No. 1 Free Square (6-1) is the inside speed. His last win was at this distance vs. $40k claimers.
