Thursday’s 6th race from Gulfstream Park is an optional claiming event for 3-year-olds and up traveling one mile on the main track (Post Time 3:00 p.m. ET).
#4 MEXICAN WONDER BOY (4-1) added blinkers and missed by a head in a $40k claiming dirt route at Keeneland Oct. 8, and the winner and show finisher were both next-out winners. His new trainer Danny Gargan excels first after the claim, and the 5-for-11 sophomore colt still has upside. He won his stateside bow at this course/distance July 25 and he went all the way that day.
#6 Everest (7-2) gets much needed class relief after tackling stakes foes in his last three starts. Actually, the 2-for-22 colt has been in some very difficult spots throughout his career. He has competed in stakes races seventeen times and he lost them all. He easily captured an extended sprint vs. allowance foes at Saratoga Aug. 1.
#1 West Will Power (5-2) stalked below par fractions in both of his two turn wins at Monmouth Park, and he earned an improved number Oct. 24. Cutting back to one turn and meeting tougher rivals might lead to a regression at underlaid odds.
#4 to win
