October 10, 2018 06:31pm
Thursday's first race from Belmont Park is a $50,000 maiden claiming event for NY-bred 2-year-old fillies traveling one mile on the main track.

#5 Girl of Tosconova (7-2) might be live right out of the box for Rudy Rodriguez (4-for-8 w/debut runners at 8f or longer). She shows back-to-back Aqueduct bullets for this, including one from the gate, and dam has produced five winners from as many starters. Irad Ortiz Jr. will ride.

#2 Tropical Storm Em (5-2) is a Scat Daddy first timer with Javier Castellano listed to ride for Todd Pletcher. She has been working steadily at Saratoga since early July, and her last move was from the gate.

#1 Rose of Dublin (3-1) did not have a smooth beginning from the inside post at six panels here Sept. 20, but she still managed to earn an improved number second time out that day. She is tagged for the first time and might enjoy today's added ground.

#3 Quietude (8-1) adds blinkers, switches surfaces, and runs in a maiden claimer for the first time. She showed improved easily foot on turf last time, and she might be the one to catch under Manny Franco.
