Thursday's Best Bet: American Power ready to rebound at Aqueduct

Thursday’s seventh race from Aqueduct is a starter allowance event for 3-year-olds and up traveling one mile on the main track.

#3 AMERICAN POWER (9-2) can take this if he rediscovers his sharp winning form from earlier this year. Both of his 2018 scores were at six furlongs vs. claiming company, and Linda Rice nabbed him for $40,000 Aug. 5.  He was an even 4th for his new barn as the beaten favorite vs. this kind at Belmont Sept. 20, and I like that they regrouped and gave him some time off. He drilled a training track bullet for this Oct. 17, Rice excels second after the claim, and Irad Ortiz Jr. was aboard for both of his wins this year.

#9 Trustworthy (5-2) earned the best last race number in a place finish vs. similar extended sprint foes at Belmont Oct. 12. He was right there throughout in his last four starts, and he likes this distance.
