Sunday's Best Bet: Sleek Lynx ready to shine in Mazarine

Sunday's 11th race from Woodbine is the Grade 3 Mazarine Stakes for 2-year-old fillies traveling a mile and a sixteenth on the all-weather surface (Post Time 6:28 p.m. ET).

#2 SLEEK LYNX (8-1) had an uncomfortable journey when finishing 2nd in her flat mile turf bow, and was unplaced as a maiden in the Natalma (G1) second time out. Mark Casse’s filly turned back and earned her diploma in a turf sprint Oct. 17, and the runner-up from that race was a next-out winner. The added distance of this race should not be a problem for the well-bred daughter of War Front.

#7 Souper Sensational
(1-1) is a $725k purchase with a 2-for-2 record. She stalked and smartly scored in her local extended sprint bow, and tracked the pace and easily captured the Glorious Song at seven panels second time out. The daughter of Curlin is bred to go this far and might make it three straight for Mark Casse.

#5 Army Wife
(12-1) took money in all four starts and shipped from New York to Kentucky and graduated on the surface switch in an extended sprint on dirt Oct. 25. She will probably attend the pace.

#3 Do You Love Me
(12-1) fired in all three synthetic starts at Presque Isle including a flat mile maiden win Oct. 15. Michael Trombetta has her now and he is sending out live runners at Woodbine.

#1 Il Malocchio
(4-1) stretched out and finished a clear 2nd at this course/distance vs. Ontario-bred foes Oct. 31. She will probably save ground stalking the pace.

#4 Batyah
(6-1) rolled home from the back of the pack from the outside post in her flat mile turf bow. She broke from the rail and passed a few rivals to finish midpack in the Jessamine (G2) second time out. She will try to get involved late.

#6 Designer Ready
(5-1) got pace help in a late running turf route maiden win Oct. 3, and the runner-up was a next-out winner. This race probably won’t set up for her.
