Sunday’s 9th race from Kentucky Downs is the $550,000 Ladies Marathon Stakes for fillies and mares traveling a mile and five-sixteenths on the turf course (Post Time 5:50 p.m. ET).
#10 BLAME DEBBIE (4-1) easily handled Luck Money in the non-graded Searching Stakes at Pimlico June 13, and earned decent speed ratings in back-to-back even efforts vs. graded foes in her last pair. She raced once at Kentucky Downs last year and rallied for the win at this distance but was disqualified and placed third. Graham Motion’s versatile filly won the Dowager (G3) last fall under Sunday’s pilot Manny Franco.
#4 Luck Money (5-1) landed the place in a pair of long distance turf stakes this year. She was a stakes winner last year and hit the board in both local turf attempts.
#7 Family Way (10-1) fired trifecta shots in three of four starts since arriving in this country in the spring. She reconnects with her winning rider Tyler Gaffalione and she probably fits with these.
#11 Go Big Blue Nation (5-1) earned a competitive speed rating in an easy optional claiming score at Del Mar July 18. Her winning rider Flavien Prat rides back and this is a much tougher spot.
#3 Micheline (7-2) rallied to win the Dueling Grounds Oaks at this course and distance under Sunday’s rider Joel Rosario last September. She started her current campaign with a nice stalk and pounce score from the outside post in the Hillsborough (G2) March 6, but never got seriously involved in her last three turf route stakes attempts. Her current form is suspect and she was faster last year.
#5 La Lune (5-2) makes her stateside bow and she was a Group 3 winner in Great Britain May 29.
