Sunday's Best Bet: No Hayne No Gayne holds hot hand in Biogio's Rose

February 09, 2019 07:52pm

Sunday's eighth race from Aqueduct is the $100,000 Biogio's Rose Stakes for New York-bred fillies and mares traveling one mile on the main track (Post Time - 4:33 p.m. ET).

#8 NO HAYNE NO GAYNE (3-1) put it all together in her last four starts and she drew well for this engagement. An outside stalking trip is expected and Steve Asmussen is trying to strike while the iron is hot.

#2 Split Time (5-2) beat some of these including my top choice in a similar local stakes at a mile and an eighth Dec. 30. She is 3-for-3 at this distance.

#3 Midnight Disguise (7-2) makes her first start in more than eight months for Linda Rice. She beat her stablemate Split Time when last seen in the Bouwerie last May. She likes this course and distance and will try to get involved late.

#5 Bonita Bianca (4-1) is not consistent but is more than capable of winning a race like this on her best day. Her recent for is suspect and she does not seem to care for this oval.

The Plays:
