No. 1 Exactly Wendy (7-2) got pace help in her flat mile turf maiden win at Santa Anita Feb. 25, and finished a troubled 4th in a race with less pace March 26. There is a decent chance that the pace will be honest and she is right with this group if she duplicates her maiden win.
No. 6 Vincero Grande (6-1) added blinkers, pressed from 2nd, and kicked clear as my top choice in a local all-weather route March 18. Dam has tossed a turf winner and she is a tad interesting on the surface switch.
No. 2 Tam’s Little Angel (3-1) is always part of the trifecta. She stretched out, switched to turf, controlled the pace, and held at this distance April 3. She will probably revert to stalking tactics in this spot.
No. 4 Sen Sen (9-2) might try to steal this. The three-time winner tried turf once last year in the Pike Place Dancer Stakes, and she set an above par pace on good ground before weakening to 4th.
No. 8 Ellamira (5-2) is a contender if the pace heats up. She finished 4th in both turf stakes starts at Santa Anita.
