#6 ELEKTRONIC (8-1) would not have to improve much to win this for Linda Rice. Both of his victories were in local turf sprints at six panels vs. New Yotk-breds, and he added blinkers and almost upset the Quick Call (G3) on yielding ground at Saratoga on July 11. He was not at his best in the Mahony last time, and he ended up fourth that day.

#8 Readyforprimetime (8-1) added blinkers and smartly went all the way to graduate from the inside post at Saratoga Aug. 25 going 5 1/2 furlongs. Linda Rice's $220,000 purchase owns early pressing versatility and might be able to step up and compete with these.

#7 Neverland Rocks (7-2) is tough to trust on top. He is 1-for-12 overall with five minor awards. He is also 0-for-3 at Belmont and 0-for-4 at this distance, and has been blanked in all seven starts in this country (does own four straight second- or third-place finishes).

#9 Achilles Warrior (8-1) is a bit interesting with Flavien Prat in the saddle. Mark Hennig tried to get this one on turf in his career debut, but it was transferred to dirt and he won that race. He has been in some tough spots (G1 Champagne, G2 Amsterdam), and his bet two efforts were in dirt sprints at this distance. He drilled a half-mile turf bullet for this Aug. 30.
