Sunday’s eighth race from Aqueduct is the $150,000 New York Stallion Series Great White Way for 2-year-olds dashing six furlongs on the main track (Post Time - 3:47 p.m. ET).
#6 BLINDWILLIE MCTELL (4-1) broke from the intimidating inside post in his career debut and was clearly second best at 19-1 that day. The winner of that key race Le General came back to easily win a local optional claiming sprint as the heavy favorite Dec. 9, and show finisher Kadens Courage graduated by a 11-plus lengths at the Big A Nov. 30. Linda Rice shows a positive ROI with second timers and he could easily graduate in this stakes spot.
#12 Thorny Tale (9-2) looked good winning his off the turf Belmont debut at this distance and two runners from that heat were next out winners. He disappointed in the mud as the chalk against state-bred stakes foes second time out and might rebound if he catches a fast track.
#3 Kadens Courage (6-1) looked great breaking his maiden by many lengths Nov. 30. He finished 6-plus lengths behind my top pick Blindwillie McTell before that. He will probably press the pace in this affair.
#4 Kosciuszko (3-1) earned a big number in his off the turf maiden win at Belmont Oct. 20 and the 2-3 finishers returned to graduate. He set the pace and weakened to third in the Notebook last time and looms a pace factor at the very least.
#6 to win
