Saturday's Best Bet: Spiced Perfection ready to roll in Madison Stakes

#5 SPICED PERFECTION (7-2) lost by a head from the tricky inside post as my top choice in the Fritchie (G3) Feb. 16, and that followed a 5-1 upset win as my top in the La Brea (G1). Javier Castellano hops aboard the sharp, fresh, tactical, consistent, and improving California-bred filly.

#6 Late Nite Pow Wow (7-2) nipped my top choice last time, and that was her fifth win from as many starts at seven panels. She is 11-for-12 with a 2nd in her career and Luis Saez has options with the early-pressing type.

#9 Shamrock Rose (5-2) exits a decent 3rd in the Azeri (G2), and the two turn distance was a bit out of range that day. She is 2-for-2 on a fast track at this distance, and those wins were in the Raven Run (G2) here and the BC F& M Sprint (G1) at Churchill last fall. She drew well, reconnects with winning rider Irad Ortiz Jr., and could easily win this. She also went route/sprint when she won the aforementioned Raven Run.

The Plays:

#5 to win

Exacta 5/6-9

Exacta 6-9/5
