Saturday's Best Bet: Forza Di Oro to move forward in Remsen

December 06, 2019 07:52pm

Saturday’s 9th race from Aqueduct is the Grade 2 Remsen Stakes for 2-year-olds traveling a mile and an eighth sixteenth on the main track (Post Time 3:43 p.m. ET).

#4 Ajaaweed (9-2) did not take a step forward in the Breeders’ Futurity (G1), but the top two from that heat are pretty good. He looked good dusting Saturday’s morning line favorite #2 FORZA DI ORO (3-1) in a flat mile maiden race at Belmont Park Sept. 11 (runner-up blew break that day), and the latter returned to smartly graduate at that same venue Oct. 26.

#8 Alpha Sixty Six (4-1) is a grinder stretching out in distance, and there is a good chance that he likes this trip. Todd Pletcher has decent stats with the blinkers off move. The $400k son of Liam’s Map is fresh and might be ready to move forward.

#1 Chase Tracker (7-2) was much the best in his extended sprint debut at Parx, and followed that up with a rallying 3rd behind impressive runway winner Independence Hall. He adds blinkers and Javier Castellano is 3-for-6 with Todd Pletcher recently.
