Monday's Best Bet: Sky's Not Falling can win stakes at Presque Isle

Monday's 5th race from Presque Isle Downs is the $75,000 Fitz Dixon Jr. Memorial Juvenile Stakes for 2-year-olds dashing six and one-half furlongs on the all-weather surface (Post Time 6:25 p.m. ET).

#7 SKY’S NOT FALLING (5-2) might be classier than these and should like the added real estate. He hit the board in three straight stakes since winning his dirt sprint bow from off the pace. Michael Trombetta has very strong stats with the turf to all-weather move and Scott Spieth wins races with this barn.

#6 Surly Furious (8-1) stretched out second time out and pulled well clear at one mile Sept. 17. He should get pace to chase and this race might not be too short for him.

#2 Smokin’ Jay (3-1) got clear early from the inside post and widened throughout in an easy front running debut victory in his five panel debut at Arlington Sept. 17. He meets other speed and has to navigate another furlong and a half against better foes.

#3 Nice Ace (6-1) ran well in both local sprints and improved his final rating in an easy front running maiden win Sept. 10. He controlled below par splits last time and is probably going to have to utilize different tactics in this spot.
