#1 LADY GWEN (4-1) turned back and rallied wide from an outer post to miss by a half-length in a local turf sprint as the favorite June 1. The inside post is an advantage at this course and distance, and she can win this if she moves forward in her second start after a layoff.

#3 Rizzi’s Honors (3-1) earned an above par number in a clear place finish behind a runaway winner in a local dirt sprint June 3. She is an unknown commodity on turf, but must be respected if she handles the footing for the productive Vazquez/Diodoro team.

#5 Kona Katie (9-2) is a competent turf sprinter and Danny Pish excels first after the claim. She figures to stalk the pace.

#12 No Mas Tequila (8-1) is a two-time dirt sprint winner with early/pressing versatility. Dam’s other starter won on turf, and the Texas-bred filly might move forward in her third start after a layoff for profitable first turf trainer Karl Broberg.

#4 Lookin Sharp (8-1) should make her presence felt from the outset if she handles turf for Steve Asmussen. She battled on the pace and had an uncomfortable trip in her previous turf sprint attempt at Fair Grounds, and that was her first start in more than a year.
