Monday's Best Bet: Bluegrass Soul can move forward at Turf Paradise

November 04, 2018 06:20pm

Monday’s first race from Turf Paradise is an optional claiming event for fillies and mares dashing five and one-half furlongs on the main track.

#7 BLUEGRASS SOUL (3-1) owns early-pressing versatility and won half of her last eight starts. She got acquainted with the local oval in a distant show finish behind a runaway winner Oct. 27, and she can move forward 2nd off the shelf. Her connections are easy to like, and she finished 1-2 in 7 of 11 starts at this distance. She dueled from the rail last time, and she should have a more comfortable journey from the outside post today.

#5 Curious Rumor (8-5) won 4 of her last 6 starts at Emerald Downs, and her new trainer Sandi Gann claimed her for $15,000 Sept. 16. The early-pressing type owns quality Pace Ratings (speed  friendly distance) and shows back-to-back local bullet workouts for this.

Wagers: #7 to win
