Friday's Best Bet: La'och Aloysius battles to the wire at Santa Anita

Friday’s 8th race from Santa Anita Park is a $50,000 maiden claiming event for three-year-olds traveling one mile on the turf course (Post Time 7:10 p.m. EST).

No. 2 LA’OCH ALOYSIUS (5-2) was best of the rest in 3rd in his lone turf route try Oct. 23, and that was clearly his best career effort from three starts. Dam has tossed a turf winner and he might move up in his second start after a layoff.

No. 1 Wellswort (9-5) is a first time gelding dropping in class and Umberto Rispoli wins races with Phil D’Amato.

No. 5 Maybe Never (6-1) never picked up his feet in his special weight turf route bow at Del Mar Nov. 7. The first time gelding adds blinkers and profitable turf rider Kent Desormeaux takes the call.

No. 4 Memes (8-1) drops, stretches out, and returns to turf. Peter Eurton is sending out live runners at Santa Anita.
