Friday's Best Bet: Guildsman can make last run in Forego Stakes

Friday’s 5th race from Turfway Park is the Forego Stakes for 4-year-olds and up dashing six and one-half furlongs on the all-weather surface (Post Time 8:16 p.m. ET).

#3 GUILDSMAN (6-1) competed on all-weather ground once in his career and he strongly rallied for the win in the Tom Ridge Stakes at Presque Isle Downs last summer. Recently hot rider Rafael Bejarano takes the call and he is capable of mowing these down on his best day.

#5 Lookin To Strike (4-1) reconnects with Rafael Hernandez and he was aboard for his sharp all-weather sprint win at Woodbine Sept. 6. He can stalk or close and might move forward after finishing an even 4th in a turf sprint stakes at Fair Grounds Dec. 19. He can stalk or close.

#6 Made in American (4-1) fired exacta shots in all four local all-weather starts. He is sharp and improving, and I like his early-pressing versatility.

#7 Hurricane Highway (10-1) rolled to a strong course/distance win from off the pace Dec. 5., and he stalked and scored in his other all-weather start last year. His winning numbers are in the ballpark and he is not completely out of this.
