Most loved? Wow...probably Penny Chenery, just because she is known across so many generations. Mary Lou Whitney is also a class act who has done a lot for Racing and its horses, but outside of Racing itself, not many people know her, I'm guessing. Most hated? Personally, it's hard to pick one person, since there are so many scumsuckers like Paragallo and everyone else in this game that treats horses like disposable commodities. On the whole, though, I'm guessing the majority will point to Dutrow, Stronach, and that guy in LA who let all those horses starve.
I love Game On Dude, but in fairness, I'd have to give the nod to Ron The Greek. Three graded stakes wins (two G1) on three different tracks in three different states. That used to mean something. He likes SA, so it may come down to RTG, the Dude, and MMM in the Classic.
I'm glad they put the horse first for tomorrow, but furious they retired him without giving him time. This is terrible for Racing and they should have at least sat back and waited for the horse to tell them it was time to quit. Why do only claimers, allowance and lower level stakes horses get to go to Lay-up and come back? Answer: More money in the breeding shed. Really upset right now.
