Fair enough. Thanks for the feedback.
Not talking about Horse of the Year horses. Talking about three year olds who didn't run to form until after the TC races.
You can't expect Liam's Map to be a classic-distance horse. Look at his dam side. As for WTC, even if he's the "worst Eclipse award winner of all time" he won five races at three years old, and lost by a nose in the BC Classic. He didn't win any of the TC races, but beat older in the Clark. You can't say he wasn't a late-bloomer.
You got me. They are by the same sire.
Thanks for the constructive criticism!
The late Temperence Hill was a great Champion, but he didn't make my list because he won graded stakes races on the Derby trail as well a classic race.
I'll agree that he raced better as an older horse, but he didn't fit my criteria for "late-bloomers".
Thanks for the feedback!
That is true about the leg and foot problems. The "good, late-blooming Unbridled's Songs" like Graydar didn't last long. I'm not assuming that Arrogate will race past four, but have to assume he's currently sound. I mean, look what he's done the last two races...
Thanks for your feedback!
I remembered it incorrectly.
Misremembered and Grazen
