I,for one feel that JJ is not a good fit for this Magnificent horse. I think Shug should use Johnny V. as JJ is a open and git type style jock where as Johnny relaxes at the start and feels the rhythm of the race, places his mount in a place he feels is close to where he wants to be, and then rides with authority using that natural rhythm saving every ounce of precious energy till it's required. Running up to that brick wall of 5 horses last Saturday has convinced me this horses style of racing would greatly improve if he were handled differently. Continued running full tilt boogie up to 5 horse brick wall, then slamming on the brakes, is what put this horse out of contention for the Classics in the first place. JJ's race riding style just does not fit this very powerful animal.
Honor Code for Shug
Have you ever won a race you touted? Ever? I have never seen you bet on a winner? Please, give is up, enough already.
Channing Hill probably had the call to ride O'Prado Ole at Kentucky Downs in todays Turf Cup a Grade 3 going a 1-1/2 for Dale Romans, but chose instead to ride #9 Aurelia's Belle in the Pucker Up R8 at Arlington for Catalano. This significantly points that Hill knows he has a "live" filly for the Pucker Up Gr. 3, 1-1/8 at Arlington. If the race stays on the turf (rain in Chicago) I look for #9 Aurelia's Belle to win the Pucker Up.
What's this a "BLAST FROM THE PAST?"
Being from NJ/NY area you should know that Chad Brown is a premier conditioner of the turf and when he can entice "Georgie" The "ICEMAN" Stevens to fly 2500 miles on the 4th of July weekend to ride there has got to be something there!
I would like to know why Xpressbet won't allow a $0.50 Tri-bet at Santa Anita? Do they allow them with your sponsors? If so, that's an excellent reason to get a new book.
