buck,they show up and dont bet.who cares if there are 100,000 of them.you know what racing should do.set up promotions with supermarkets.come up with wagering games .the winner gets x amount of groceries.see how many housewives sign up .they will watch the races and have a rooting interest.they will get the feel of having a wager on a horse.set up tickets for a weekly race,similar to a lotto.have quick pick tickets.anything to get peoples attention into wagering.not to follow a horse and root for themif i want to root,i will go to a sporting event.i have no problem with people following horse and rooting for them.my problem is with the racing authorities who lose focus on what fuels their game.it seems they want to publicize the game into a spectator sport.this way when you come to the track with so many other people.you just might make a u turn into their real moneymakers.THE RACINOS.

you guys cannot be serious in thinking orb should run back in the belmont.what does he have to gain.if he runs it will be his 3rd race in 5 weeks.going back to the fla. derby.it will be 4 races in 2months.do you guys think he is a harness horse.listen to what joel rosario said after the race.i asked him at the 4 furlong pole and i got no response.then the host asked him that he got shuffled a little.rosario innocently shook his head and said,that had nothing to do with it.read between the lines.joel is telling you he was empty.do you want him to spell it out.some say he was close to the pace.they were walking up front.he was close to the pace in the fla. derby and won.face it.it is brutal to come back and win after just 2 weeks coming off a major effort.as far as the belmont goes,this is a mile and a half.these horses will be winded when they hit the top of the lane.i laugh,a lot of peoples wise guy horse is code west.are you kidding me.he lost to a horse who broke his maiden the time before on derby day.he ran on preakness day and beat a field of mules(no disrespect to mules) that is how bad the field was.now you think he can win the belmont running his 3rd race in 5 weeks.look at the horses that win the belmont.they are fresh.most passed up the preakness to regenerate their engines.if code west wins the belmont.i will bow down to all who are picking him and crown you a racing genius.

ok buckpasser for the zillionth time.in todays mass media age.you had 2 of the greatest fillies of all time.rachel and zenytta.the were over marketed.they were over hyped.what major accomplishment came from that.absolutely nothing.if not for racinos.this game would more than likely be dead.nbc would give a rats ass about covering races.so it is not the superstars that fuel the game.it is the evryday horses and trainers and players.the take out fuels the purses.not the the money they get from nbc to air the crap they do

humor.for a filly you want to run against the top colts in america.3rd and 4th against fillies is nowhere.she was non competitive in both races with a B.S excuse in the oaks.you claim she can compete against the boys.let her beat her own gender first.so now 3rd and 4th are accomplishments.no wonder you think she is so good.if she ever won one of those races,in your mind she might be the greatest of all time.she is good and that is it.

2 scenerios.scenerio #1. she is the only entrant in the field or scenerio #2. every other horses gates stay closed and she is the only one to break clean.she ran twice in the oaks and the breeders cup against the best competition,she was nowhere to be found.

i assume by that she is in 2 scenerios.

my point mac.the racing industry is trying to market the game in the direction of the superstars.they are neglecting every other horse,trainer and owner that is not lucky to have the big horse.those are the exceptions not the rule.people like you and i and many on this site get just as much pleasure watching every day.we do not need the big horse to bring us out.who needs the phonies ,who are there for the event.like i told the people 2 weeks ago.i was at the derby with vip credentials.i hated the experience.by the 6th race,most of these additional fans were stewed.i got no problem how they handle themselves.but they make it so inconvenient for the rest

and what good did that publicity do.absolute nothing.the game is getting worse.if not for racinos,half the tracks would be closed.you need to nurture gamblers.you do not need casual fans who turn in for the v3 big days.i am not knocking these people.they enjoy events .all the power to them.big deal they go on leterman.he is a clown who uses this for ratings also.that is my point.NBC knows that the racing fan is the one that watches the show from 2:30 to 6.the casuals come in at 6pm.the prime time hour for ratings.the fact that they cannot appease the racing fan by showing the undercard stakes races is pathetic.all it takes is 3 minutes of their show.it is an arrogance by nbc.that is all i am saying.
