Again, this has been gone over so many times before, but some just don't get it. There is a difference between BASHING and DOUBTING. Most of us are DOUBTING, NOT BASHING. Find me one comment on HRN that is bashing this horse and I might take back what I said.
Good lord, why is the Preakness, Belmont, Travers, and Breeders Cup Classic listed as "possible" for this horse? Why don't we make it past the Derby first before assuming that he might "possibly" be in the belmont...
This is definately not a race that will be handed to him. Not sure if the rail will be to his benefit or not.
Japan (and even Europe) are breeding some of the worlds best racehorses right now. Horses that can make more than 10 starts without an injury, horses that can go 12f multiple times, etc. If we lived in a perect world, I would be having Deep Impact or Symboli Kris S. shuttle over to the US, but we all know that the Japanese would never let that happen...
Only the "popular" and "hyped" three year olds are going to make these lists. The colts that will probably mature a little later (such as HHE and a few others) will be disregarded, unless they manage a G1 or G2 win. I personally think that none of the horses that are on this list (or on any current Derby list for that matter) will be our Derby winner. Yeah, some will make it to the Derby, but something tells me tat none of them will be Derby winners.
Definitely one to watch for. Lovely pedigree (no Nothern Dancer or Native Dancer) and looks to favor distance. #KyOaks2013?
Great horse who favors long distances with a pedigree full of stamina to boot. I think it would be awesome if he stayed in the US for stud duty. He is the type of horse that the US should be striving for (and needs, IMO).
Truthfully, I think he is "the one" for O'Neill. He really does get going when he has room to run, but in most of his races he has been either along the rail, boxed in, or pinched off.
Personally, I see 10f being out of his range. If he didn't have Bold Ruckus in there, then I wouldn't be saying that, but even Into Mischief wasn't that great beyond 9f. These eventual 1 1/8 races will say a lot about colts like Goldencents and Shanghai Bobby.
It's about damn time. It would have been nice if they would have realized that this horse needed a REAL break sooner, rather than later. 6 starts in a span of 4 months? Even I think that is too much for a colt during his two year old year. Wonder if he is going to be put back on the Derby Trail when he gets off the farm (depending on how long he stays there).
