In her time she was so great another Sec Ra Tariat. She always won her races Clear Until the Day She made us TEAR Ruffian OH Ruffian a brave one on the Scene Ruffian OH Ruffian our Precious Fallen Queen, With Gallant Strides She ran with Zest and Horse No Other One could Test - when you saw her run, her Jet balck Coat with Glisten In the Sun and on the day that she went down SHE WAS STILL THE BEST INDED!!! Ruffian Oh Ruffian Our Precious Fallen Queen!
Of all the horses on the track, through history as we look back, the swiftest one to ever win is our SUPER QUEEN RUFFIAN.
I Think Rachel Alexandra is back ! If you look at her 2 prior races before the Oaks you'll notice that her times were ordinary just as they were in her preps this year albeit she got beat this year. Once she found herself again she was awesome and back in the same class as the greats of all time. Looking at the Fleur you notice at the start of the race she stared down Jessica like her old self. This year will tell just how great she is and where in the top 100 she fits. As for Zenyatta - well let me say this she has the 'Look of Eagles' (I just got chills typing that). We cannot judge the athlete by the fears of her handlers. I just don’t believe they think she is as GREAT as she is which is sad for racing. I’m guessing she can win on any surface. We are a very lucky Racing public to have too very self-aware beings occupying those magnificent equine bodies. Add Quality Road to the mix and we have an extraordinary year of the Return of the Super-horses in a time when the Grandeur of Racing as subsided considerably.
